We are delighted to announce the appointment of Prof. Oleg Kvlividze, MD, PhD, as the new Provost of New Anglia University. A globally renowned authority in rare and undiagnosed diseases, dermatology, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), he brings a wealth of expertise in medical research, education, and patient advocacy.
After earning his PhD from Tbilisi State Medical University in Georgia, where his research focused on human papillomavirus expression and skin diseases, he held distinguished academic positions as a Professor in the School of Medicine at international institutions worldwide.
In 2009, he co-founded the Georgian Foundation for Genetic and Rare Diseases (GeRaD) and has served as its CEO, championing improved healthcare policies and enhanced treatment access for rare disease patients in Georgia. His leadership extends to prominent global organizations such as IRDiRC, Orphanet, UDNI, RDI, and EURORDIS, where he has been an active participant of international initiatives in rare disease research and advocacy. Since 2024, he has represented Georgia as a Principal Representative on the ERDERA (European Rare Diseases Research Alliance) Governing Board.
With over 80 peer-reviewed publications, his work has significantly advanced understanding in rare and undiagnosed diseases, genetics, dermatology, and venereology. A frequent organizer and keynote speaker at major international conferences, he has fostered collaboration and innovation within these specialized fields.
