American students have the opportunity to pursue medical studies at New Anglia University through one of two program options: a 4-year MD program for those who have earned a bachelor’s degree in science-related fields, or a 5-year Premedical and MD program for students holding a high school diploma. Clinical rotations are exclusively conducted in U.S. hospitals. This program aligns with the requirements of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) Certification, allowing students to take the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and qualify to practice medicine in the U.S. Specifically:

  1. The University holds an ECFMG Sponsor Note listing in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS).
  2. Clinical rotations in U.S. hospitals provide students with diverse experiences across a range of specialties and settings, offering substantial practical exposure and engagement with patients and healthcare professionals.
    • Ward Rounds: Attending physicians lead bedside teaching sessions to assess patient progress.
    • Grand Rounds: Presentations on complex cases and medical innovations to promote interdisciplinary learning.
    • Morning Report: Daily meetings to review overnight incidents and newly admitted patients.
    • Work Rounds: Team-based sessions focused on patient care tasks and fostering collaboration.
    • Attending Rounds in Clinic: Observation of patient consultations with attending physicians for clinical insight and guidance.
    • Dedicated Teaching: Includes lectures, case discussions, and skills workshops for comprehensive learning.
    • Self-Directed Learning: Provides access to resources such as libraries and online databases, supervised by staff.
  1. USMLE achievement tests cover material traditionally studied in basic sciences and core clinical clerkships. Students are required to take:
    • USMLE Step 1 after completing Basic Sciences.
    • USMLE Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK) upon finishing Clinical Rotations.
  1. USMLE preparation courses are available in addition to the Medical program.
  2. Support is provided for navigating the USMLE certification process, covering:
    • Medical Science Examination Requirement: Passing Step 1 and Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK).
    • Clinical Skills Requirement: Completion of the ECFMG Pathway.
    • Communication Skills Requirement: Meeting the required score on the Occupational English Test (OET).
  1. Graduates are eligible to participate in the U.S. National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).
