British applicants have the option to pursue medical studies at New Anglia University through either a 5-year Premedical and MD program tailored for undergraduate entry studies or a 4-year MD program tailored for graduate entry studies. Both programs offer clinical rotations exclusively within British hospitals. Importantly, these programs comply with the General Medical Council (GMC) criteria, enabling students to take the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) examinations and subsequently practice medicine in the UK. More specifically:
- The University is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS).
- The program provides over 5,760 clock hours (lectures, tutorials, and clinical rotations) in allopathic medicine, exceeding the 5,500 hours required by the GMC. In the event of absences, students are required to make up for the missed clock hours.
- The program's allocation of clinical hours significantly surpasses the GMC's stipulated percentage, dedicating 70% of its duration to clinical hours, compared to the GMC's expectation of 20%. Clinical Rotation studies are offered in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry and, Family Medicine.
